National HIV Testing Day

Thursday June 26, 2008
Friday, June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, a day to encourage people in America to take control of their health and get tested. For surgery patients, this is a very easy thing to do, just ask your surgeon to add it to the labs that are normally drawn prior to surgery, or those done after surgery. Why? Because it is the smart thing to do, and because HIV is so much more treatable now than ever before early testing can save your life!

If your doctor asks why, tell him someone who cares about you said it was a smart idea!

Learn more about National Aids Testing Day from Mark Cichoki, the About.com HIV guide in his recent blog post.
