If you have been told that you are expecting a anencephalic newborn you probably have thousands of questions about what  anencephaly is, what you can expect, and how this could have possibly happened.

You are not alone.  Anencephaly is far more common than most people realize, and can be an incredibly difficult diagnosis to deal with.  You may wonder if you did anything to cause the condition, or what can be done to prevent it from happening again.
