If you are having surgery you may be told that blood clots are a risk after having surgery, which is absolutely true.
What is also true is that the medical community often forgets to tell patients the signs and symptoms that are typically present with a blood clot. Which is not very helpful.
If you suspect you have a blood clot, remember that the signs and symptoms vary widely based on where the blood clot is located. A blood clot in the vessels leading to the heart feel like a heart attack (because that's exactly what is happening!) but a blood clot in your leg may be a dull ache accompanied by some swelling.
