Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn will be having surgery next week to repair damaged right leg.
Vonn broke her lower right leg and tore two ligaments in her right knee last week at the World Championships in Austria. The combination of the lateral tibia plateau fracture, the medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear and the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear has the potential to be a career-ending injury. Vonn, a fierce competitor, will likely need at least 8 months to recover from her surgery, which could make competing in the 2014 winter games 12 months from now extremely challenging.
MCL RepairIt will take months of rehab before one very simple question is answered: Is this a career-ending injury or just a mogul on the way to the games?
