Why I Want To Be a Doctor

I am a person who strongly believes in fairness and equality among men. I want to make a differences in this world, I want people to understand that health care services aren't just for people with money and statuses in societies. Health care is a science that was supposed to make a huge difference in people's lives, with the growing number of diseases every day,the huge medical bills that comes with it, the poor and the unfortunate ones are often left behind to pick up themselves. I want to be a doctor who cares for her patients but not just to solve the medical mysteries, because money can't buy happiness and kindness.

Here's What I'm Doing

Of course knowledge is important but one must also have the determination and dedication to this profession. I'm helping out as much as i could around, whenever patients needs me I'm there to help, because I've just started my 3rd year in medical school and we are actually not allowed to take part in medical procedures without supervision, here in Russia. When the patients praise me for doing a good job with their bandaging and stuff, my heart just skips a beat, the happiness is unexplainable. During the summer holidays I'm going to help out in my father's friend's clinic, just to brush up my skills and get 1st hand experience. It's a thrilling process, trust me. Then perhaps I want to do volunteer work in the orphanage, always been my dream, I hope to achieve all that during the one month holiday break.

Advice

  • It is a daunting task I would say to be a doctor, without determination, dedication and sacrifice there is no certainty that one would be a great doctor. A great doctor isn't the one who scores all 100 percent in every exam, or the person who stands out in everything they do, or the one who uses others for his own benefits so that he would look good in public, but to me a real doctor is a person who is willing to spend his time caring and being attentive to his patients. I'm speaking from my own experiences as a medical student here in Russia.

What Kind of Doctor Would You Like To Be?

.I want to be a doctor who is willing to make a difference. Perhaps when I have successfully become a doctor I would have more to talk about this beautiful profession.
