Why I Want To Be a Doctor
I want to become a doctor to help others, mostly. I am also very motivated by a lack of financial support as a child. I don't want to "pass the poor" to my future children.
Here's What I'm Doing
I've started college for nursing, which will take me in the direction of a science-specific degree. I am currently working on my master's as a nurse practitioner, to make sure this is a career path I want to take. A nurse practitioner license takes only a master's (in VA) and 1000 clinical hours, far less commitment than med school and residency.
Advice
- I have learned that House, M.D. is a terrific show, but probably not realistic.
- I have learned that medical terms are not easy to say.
- I have learned that doctors are the most prestigous careers in every society on Earth.
