Blood Transfusion After Surgery
- I have to have blood transfusion after a laparotomy to remover 5 fibroids and separate my womb from my bowels caused by level 4 endometrosis. The surgery took 3 and half hours and so I guess I lost a lot of blood. Day 1 of recovery was great! I was alert and the pain was controlled due to the morphine and any other pain killer from surgery that was still in my body. Day 2 showed a different me. I was lethagic and could barely keep my eyes open. Very nauseaous when I eat and was therefore throwing up daily. Daily test shows that my hemo was low and dropping. I asked the doctor to watch if it will rise after day 3. It didnt and so I was give two bags of blood. I felt better the day of and was more alert but the nausea vomitting was still there which made me weak. This persist two days after being at home, but with some healthy iron filled food I was able to stop it Thank God! I am on my way to full recovery now being Day 12!
